John Bryant Snell is the Executive Chef and Owner of foodniks. With over 30 years of experience
and leadership in the restaurant industry, he is thrilled to bring a fresh approach to his latest venture
in Tiburon.

John was a foodnik from the very start. His restaurant career started while attending high school in upstate New York and continued as he cooked professionally throughout college. After a few years as an executive chef for a large hotel corporation, he attended the Culinary Institute of America, in New York.

After graduation, John answered the siren call of the west coast. After a year in Washington,
John headed to the Bay Area to work first with Bradley Ogden, then with Heidi Krahling, eventually opening The Meetinghouse restaurant with former CIA classmate Joanna Karlinsky.

As executive chef and owner of The Meetinghouse, John oversaw all the culinary aspects of the restaurant. His expertise led to its national status as one of Zagat’s “America’s Top Restaurants”,
and Gourmet magazine’s “America’s Best Restaurants”.

John and his family moved to beautiful Tiburon in 2005, where he purchased what is now foodniks in December 2006. He is overjoyed to be here, doing what he loves to do, for people who appreciate fabulous food.
